Whether in high school or college, the Class of 2020 got shafted this year when most, if not all graduation ceremonies were cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. So, a lot of celebrities, including Florida Georgia Line, have been offering messages of hope and inspiration to this year’s graduates.
Tyler Hubbard sends his congratulations to all seniors, and he says, “It feels like yesterday we were just graduating, so it’s such a special moment for you guys. You’ve worked so hard to get there, so congratulations. Best of luck in the future.”
Then Tyler suggested that Brian Kelley drop a little wisdom or advice on the Class of 2020, ad BK rose to the challenge. He said, “Take chances. You know, if you feel like you’re supposed to move somewhere, go chase a crazy dream or create something, or go to college in a certain place, follow your gut. Follow your dreams.”
That’s exactly how he and Tyler ended up together, because they both followed their dreams to Nashville and met when they were both students at Belmont University. They discovered they shared the same musical dream, and the rest is history.
Just the other day, BK says he and Tyler were having a discussion about how that one decision to move to Nashville changed everything. “We wouldn’t be Florida Georgia Line, we wouldn’t be where we are today if we both hadn’t moved. And it’s definitely a God thing to bring us together, to make us a team, but to have individually moved, you know, you have to take a leap of faith and you have to get outside your comfort zone.”
Florida Georgia Line has another hit song on their hands with their top 15 single, “I Love My Country,” but BK acknowledges that may not be everybody’s dream, and he clarifies his advice to the class of 2020 by adding, “Not saying everybody has to leave their home town and chase crazy dreams. There’s amazing things that happen everywhere. So, find what means something to you, go chase it down and get it.”

Tyler Hubbard – “What’s up Class of 2020? It’s your boys here, Florida Georgia Line. First of all, I want to say congratulations. It feels like yesterday we were just graduating, so it’s such a special moment for you guys. You’ve worked so hard to get there, so congratulations. Best of luck in the future, and why don’t you give ‘em a little piece of BK advice?”
Brian Kelley – “Ooh, okay. So, a little piece of advice (a little nugget) … Take chances. You know, if you feel like you’re supposed to move somewhere, go chase a crazy dream or create something, or go to college in a certain place, follow your gut. Follow your dreams, and we both have this conversation about the simple decision to move to Nashville, or not, because we wouldn’t be Florida Georgia Line, we wouldn’t be where we are today if we both hadn’t moved. And it’s definitely a God thing to bring us together, to make us a team, but to have individually moved, you know, you have to take a leap of faith and you have to get outside your comfort zone. And that’s not for everybody. Not saying everybody has to leave their home town and chase crazy dreams. There’s amazing things that happen everywhere. So, find what means something to you, go chase it down and get it. Love y’all. Congratulations.”
