CURRENT SINGLE: “Lil Bit”
Florida Georgia Line’s latest single, “Lil Bit,” is another collaboration with their good buddy Nelly, and the song originally appeared on Nelly’s Heartland album, with more of a hip hop lean to it. Florida Georgia Line added a remix of the song as one of the additional tracks on the Deluxe Edition of their Life Rolls On album, with some tweaks to the sound of the track and a whole new first verse written by FGL’s Tyler Hubbard, who co-wrote the original song with Nelly, Jordan Schmitt and Blake Redferrin. According to Tyler, “The song was already out. The song was already gaining traction and we just thought, let’s do a remix and put this on the album – somethin’ a little different but still in the same vein. So yeah, we wrote a different first verse, kinda added some different elements on the production side of things just to country it up a little bit.”
Most fans may not even realize there are two different versions of the song, but in Tyler’s opinion, “(The remix) definitely added some different emotions, some different feelings to the song,” and he says, “I really like the remix, I also really like the original. I think they both bring different things to the table and offer different things for different fans, and ultimately bring more fans together.”
“Lil Bit” will definitely add to the party when Florida Georgia Line kicks off their I Love My Country Tour at the end of September, and Tyler says, “That song never gets old, and to kind of FGL it up a little bit was a good time. So, happy we got to do that and glad the fans dig it.”
New first verse on FGL’s remix version of “Lil Bit”:
“Hey, what’s up baby, how you doin’, where you come from and what’s your name
I sure do like the way you’re movin’, how ‘bout you move over my way
That’s right, just a lil bit
Yeah, I’m gonna get the next round, we can drink about it
Let’s get to thinkin’ if you think we need to think about it
The way I see it we got nothing to lose, and I kinda got somethin’ to prove”
