Florida Georgia Line just released their brand new single, “Blessings,” and Brian Kelley says, “That song was started in January 2016 in St. John island, at this house. Me and some buddies and my wife and some friends we were there for about five weeks and kind of got the chorus going. And then we got back to Nashville in February and gave Tom (Douglas) a call, had him over to the treehouse with us, and got to work on finishing the song.”
Perhaps it was being in the beautiful beach paradise of St. John that had Brian feeling so blessed and thankful the day he started the song, and he says “Blessings” is, “just an attitude of gratitude. You know always count your blessings, always be thankful, even to wake up. No matter how bad your day is, no matter whatever happens, you got to wake up that day and that’s the big deal.”
Brian and Tyler Hubbard are always reminding themselves how blessed they have been over the last seven years, since they first signed their record deal to now, where they are cranking out hit songs, selling out stadiums and arenas, getting to tour the world with their music, and have built an empire that includes a restaurant and bar, a space for writers to create, clothing stores and their own publishing company and record label. Brian says, “We’re super thankful for all the blessings – our families and the fact that we get to create for a living and touch a lot of people’s lives and provide jobs, and just feel extremely fulfilled. So it’s just a good reminder, always count your blessings.”
“Blessings” is the third single off FGL’s current album, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country.
