THIS WEEK’S NEW #1 SONG: “Long Live”
Early on in the pandemic, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line was spending a lot of time outside, working out, riding this mountain bike in the woods with friends. But then, he ruptured his Achilles tendon and broke a bone in his ankle, and was unable to walk or put any weight on it for a few months. So, that pretty much wrapped up his outdoor adventures for a while. Instead, Tyler pivoted to working on his music production skills. “Now I’m really into producing and trying to make tracks and write songs,” he says. “I spent a lot of time in the studio by myself during this quarantine, just trying to better my craft on the computer as a producer.”
Not only will his improved skills help FGL when they’re recording, but it will also help Tyler produce his own demos for songs he writes, and it will help him produce other artists, which is something he has been dabbling in for a while. So, he says, “I’m trying to make the most of this time and dive in on something that’s really valuable in my life and something I love to do as well, and something that hopefully is gonna bring about some great songs. So, I’m excited about it, fun little hobby.”
The good news is, while Tyler was working on his production skills, his ankle fully healed, and he just posted a picture last week on social media, showing him back out with his buddies, riding his mountain bike again, for the first time since he broke his ankle back in August.

“Before I’d broken my ankle, I was getting into cycling and doing some active stuff outside. But now I’m really into producing and trying to make tracks and write songs. I spent a lot of time in the studio by myself during this quarantine, just trying to better my craft on the computer as a producer. I’ve realized that that’ll benefit me in so many ways. So, I’m trying to make the most of this time and dive in on something that’s really valuable in my life and something I love to do as well, and something that hopefully is gonna bring about some great songs. So, I’m excited about it, fun little hobby.”
