Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line is the Georgia half of the duo, and he says, “Growing up in Georgia was a great place to grow up. I kinda grew up in the middle of nowhere, Monroe, Georgia, out in the country, which as a kid, I mean that’s kind of the dream to grow up in the country, be able to run around and play ride dirt bikes and goof off and ride your bike your friend’s house, and just had a lot of fun.”
Tyler knows that being a kid who grew up carefree in wide open spaces definitely helped shape who he is and it continues to inspire many of the things he does to this day, so he hopes to raise his soon to be three children the same way. “I think it’s neat, the lifestyle, the pace of life. Just growing up in the country was really cool so, you know, I look forward to hopefully raising my kids in a similar environment, outside of Nashville somewhere, and getting to play and hang out and enjoy being outdoors and run around the country.”
That definition of “country” is just one that is covered in FGL’s latest hit, “I Love My Country,” which also talks about country music and Tyler and Brian’s home country, America.

So, growin’ up in Georgia’s kinda made me who I am and inspired me a lot. I think it’s neat, the lifestyle, the pace of life.
