It’s easy to hear how Florida Georgia Line’s wives are muses for a lot of their songwriting, but Tyler Hubbard says that his wife Hayley, and BK’s wife Brittany contribute to their music way beyond that, like in the case of their latest song, “Blessings.” They co-wrote that song with Tom Douglas, Jesse Frasure, Jordan Schmidt and Ernest K. Smith, back in 2016, and Tyler says, “Just like tons of songs we write. I mean we have 3, 4, 500 songs in our phone of demos that may or may not ever see the light of day, and may get forgotten about, or whatever. But one day I was riding down the road and just playin’ some old demos, and that one came on and my wife’s like, ‘Hey, I think you guys should put that one on the album.’
At the time, FGL was in the process of recording songs for their latest album, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country, and when Hayley suggested they needed to include “Blessings,” Tyler says, “(That) got me thinkin’, man, she’s usually always right. I tell her 95% of the time she’s right, I get that other 5%. So that’s just another good example of Haley speaking up and saying, ‘Hey you guys should think about doing that because that gives me all the feels, and I think that’s you and BK. I think that’s who you are and I think the fans should know that.’”
So not only did “Blessings” make it onto the album, but it’s FGL’s latest single.

Tyler Hubbard – “Here’s a good example of our wives being a big part of this whole process. That song we wrote, like three years ago, right?”
Brian Kelley – “2016.”
Tyler – “So yeah, a while ago, just like tons of songs we write.
