Brantley Gilbert is among the country artists who don’t live in Nashville, instead, opting to make his home down near his hometown in Georgia. Brantley doesn’t have anything against Nashville, in fact, he says, “I lived in Nashville for a year, and absolutely nothing against the people, I mean, they’re wonderful people here and incredibly talented writers, and it’s perfect for writing and that sort of thing.”
But Brantley knew he couldn’t live in Nashville long-term, because he says, “Number one, I’m a workaholic. And especially being a husband and a dad now, if I lived here, I’d be in writin’ room or in a meetin’ every day.”
Also, his and his wife’s support system is in Georgia. Brantley says, “My family’s there and my wife’s family’s there. Home is home, you know what I mean? And I think it’ll always be that way.”
Living in Georgia definitely doesn’t keep Brantley from working hard on his music. He’s been writing a lot of songs, including his latest single, “Hard Days,” and looking toward the future to what’s next.
