(AUDIO) HANK WILLIAMS, JR. LOVES LIVING LIFE ON A FARM

Hank Williams, Jr. was just three years old when his famous father passed away, which means he was raised by his grandfather, who was a farmer, and Hank says it was a great way to be brought up.  “I love getting on the tractor, putting up the disc, bush hogging this field, fixing the dove field, fixing the turkey, doing the deer stand. Yeah, a tractor and a farm is a wonderful thing. And, you know, taking care of the game or the fish. I love it.”

Obviously, life on the farm is a lot different for Hank Jr. now than when he was growing up.  “The Williams were poor farmers, like everyone was then,” he explains.  “You have to realize back then when they look at me. That generation from the 1920s and 30s, they didn’t have anything. And then when Hank met Audrey, the world changed.”

Hank Jr has had a tremendous amount of success in his career and continues to make music, like his latest single, “The Party’s On,” off his It’s About Time album, but he still prefers the simplicity of farm living.

Hank Williams Jr – what love about your farm  :53

“My father died when he was only 29 years old. I’m three years old. My father figure is my grandfather, who is nothing but a farmer and a pulp wooder, that they left me with a lot, which is the greatest thing that could’ve ever happened. I love getting on the tractor, putting up the disc, bush hogging this field, fixing the dove field, fixing the turkey, doing the deer stand. Yeah, a tractor and a farm is a wonderful thing. And, you know, taking care of the game or the fish. I love it. You know, that’s where we’re from. The Williams were poor farmers, like everyone was then. You have to realize back then when they look at me. That generation from the 1920s and 30s, they didn’t have anything. And then when Hank met Audrey, the world changed.”
