One day, when the music world is allowed to start touring regularly again, Thomas Rhett definitely hopes to continue the trajectory his live shows were on before the touring world came to a sudden stop. Thomas has been graduating to bigger and bigger venues, and would love to eventually be able to headline a stadium tour, but that’s something he feels like he needs to grow into. ““I think if you can do a couple years’ worth of amphitheaters it’s definitely worth dipping your feet in on a stadium – just trying one, trying two,” says Thomas. “Puttin’ a good package together, maybe co-headlining. You never know what could happen. It may be one of those things where you were just meant to do it and people would rather see you in a stadium than an amphitheater. But you’ll never know until you try it. But we are definitely a little bit off from trying that, for sure.”
Thomas has opened for Kenny Chesney on some of his stadium tour dates, and from what we saw, he looked right at home on that big stage, but he says, “We are definitely a little bit off from trying that, for sure.”
We have a feeling that once he gets there, Thomas Rhett will realize that he was born to headline stadiums. While he waits for that opportunity, he’s has been busy working on new music to follow up his current top 10 single, “Be a Light.” Thomas has been sharing photos and videos from the recording studio. If you want to keep up with his progress and maybe even get a sneak peek of the new music he’s been working on, find him on Instagram @thomasrhettakins.
