NEW SINGLE – “Better Than You’re Used To”
Moms always want the best for their kids, and often, they give them all the support and encouragement they need to pursue their dreams. But Tyler Rich found out when he was younger, that while his mom will always support him, she’s also going to be honest when he asks her opinion. According to Tyler, “When I was in high school, first startin’ to play guitar, and do demos on tapes – we would press record in a room and that’s how you recorded the demo. And I remember playing her these songs and she’d be like, ‘Yeah, the guitars are really good, but, you know, maybe… may … maybe get a new singer.’”
Tyler was the lead singer in the band, so having his mom tell him they needed a new singer was not what he was expecting. “I was like, ‘Mom, what are you talking about? This is cool. This is rock, you know, we’re really good.’ And she’s like, ‘Oh, You should probably get a singer.’”
Back then he totally disagreed with his mom, but looking back now, he says, “I’m so glad she told me that because I was TERRIBLE. Terrible. And from that moment forward, I started just practicing and lessons. I was working at a pizza place, spending so much money on lessons every week just to learn how to sing.”
Fortunately, mom’s honesty and all those lessons paid off, as evidenced by Tyler’s vocals on his brand new single, “Better Than You’re Used To.”
