current single: “HEAVENS TO BETSY

Jackson Dean listened to all kinds of music when he was growing up because his family’s tastes in music was pretty wide and varied, plus he’d listen to whatever was playing on the radio whenever he was working in construction. But when Jackson thought about making music, country was his first and only choice.

“Music was always around. We listened to it on a job while we were working. We listened to it when we were riding to the job on the radio, so the radio was always around. My family has a big musical palette. We can go from Aretha Franklin to Xavier Rudd and everything in between. The bar I started at my grandfather actually built. It was an old train station they took and made into a bar. And they would have blues jams up there all the time. And I used to go and just watch and watch the old heads play, so I knew I wanted to be around in music, and I don’t know, we were just, we were pretty country, a whole bunch of bricklayers and stone masons and carpenters and tradesmen, and it gets pretty red.”
