(AUDIO) JACKSON DEAN HAS COME FACE TO FACE WITH A FEW BLACK BEARS WHILE GETTING LOST IN THE WOODS

DEBUT SINGLE – “Don’t Come Lookin’”

Jackson Dean has talked a lot about the fact that when he was a kid he used to run off into the vast woods near his house to disappear for a little while and just spend time alone. We couldn’t help but wonder, with all the time he spent in the woods, did he ever encounter any dangerous situations or get in any kind of trouble?  “Run up on a couple bear,” reveals Jackson. “I mean, pretty close. (Noting the five or six foot distance between him and the person he was talking to) he said, “As close as from me to you, probably.  Yeah, I run up on a mama one time, cubs.”

To most people, coming face-to-face with a black bear seems rather terrifying, but being the cool, calm and collected guy that he always is, Jackson says, “They’re more scared of you than you are of them.  So, stand still, and they’ll probably take off before you do.”

Experts agree that you should NEVER attempt to run away or escape if you encounter a black bear, so Jackson did the right thing during his encounters.  And even though Jackson kept his wits about him during his black bear encounters, he lets on to the bit of fear, trepidation, uneasiness he felt in those moments when he says, “But, still, a 350-pound black bear … yeah.”

Jackson’s top 15 single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” was inspired by his time alone in the woods, and the message he would give his mom when he left the house that if he didn’t come home, it means he didn’t want to come home, so “Don’t Come Lookin’.”
