DEBUT SINGLE – “Don’t Come Lookin’”
If you know anything about Jackson Dean, then it should come as no surprise that he plans to head into the woods to do some hunting during part of his Thanksgiving break. The time alone will also give him time to reflect on what an incredible year he’s had, from releasing his debut album, Greenbroke, to touring with Brooks & Dunn and Lee Brice, getting to play the Opry and the Ryman for the first time, and now having his debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” on the verge of becoming his first #1 song. Jackson admits it’s hard to put into words what it all means, not only to him, but to his whole family.
Jackson Dean – success over last year :45
“It’s so much to process, but to my family it’s just like, for a couple years there they didn’t know what I was doin’, and they didn’t get it, especially my brothers. They’re 10 years older than I am, and we were not always close, until about a year before I left. And I got a call from my brother the other night, and he had been having a wee nip of whiskey, and he was just like, ‘I’m so proud of you, and you are my idol.’ I looked up to them so much when I was a kid, and now to be the one that they’re looking at, and just goin’, hell yeah, is really awesome. And, you know, mama and dad, I wouldn’t be here without them, and I’m just, I’m making good on their investments (laugh). But to make my family proud is a really big reason why I go so hard and give it all that I got every time. So it means the absolute world to me.”
