DEBUT SINGLE : “Don’t Come Lookin’”
Jackson Dean has a lot of tattoos, but there’s one in particular that has a story he loves to share. Jackson points to a tattoo that runs the entire length of his outer right forearm and says, “This one probably is my favorite, just a old turkey feather.” He explains, “I was doing a show in Beckley, West Virginia, middle of nowhere, and this guy that was puttin’ on the show had one crawling up his arm. It was a dead oak tree, and I was like, ‘Dude, that’s awesome!’ He said, ‘Yeah man, do you want one?’ I said, ‘Well, hell yeah.’ So, he called his guy that apparently did everybody else’s in town.”
This particular tattoo artist had quite an interesting story, which is why Jackson loved the experience so much. “He rolls up with his kit, and he’s covered from the top of his head to his last pinky toe in tattoos,” recalls Jackson. “and was an ex-con, and just did tattoos with a guitar string in prison, in the penitentiary up there. Country as you can get.”
Thankfully, Jackson had some time to kill while he was in town for his show, and he says, “We just sat there for four hours. I printed out a picture and he just went to town. It was a great time. That’s probably my favorite story about any of my tattoos.”
