DEBUT SINGLE : “Don’t Come Lookin’”
Jackson Dean’s debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” was inspired by something he used to say as a kid. Jackson spent a lot of time alone in the expansive woods up near his house in Annapolis, Maryland. He would take a knife and go explore and hide out for a couple of days as a kid, and Jackson says when he and Luke Dick were looking for something to write about, “I thought of something that I used to say to my mom before I left the house. I just started saying to her one day, I was like, ‘Mom, if I don’t come back just don’t come lookin’ for me. Like, I’m being dead serious. Just don’t come lookin’. It means I don’t want to come back”
While most moms would probably look at their kids like they were crazy, Jackson’s mom knew it was just who he was, and that he was capable of surviving out in the woods, so she let him go. And Jackson says when he told that story to Luke, “He was like, ‘That is awesome!’ So, we wrote it and it’s really just about gettin’ out where people aren’t, gettin’ away from the world, you know? Which I think if people did a little bit more, the world would be a little bit more sane.”
“Don’t Come Lookin’” is the first release off Jackson’s debut album, Greenbroke, and he says, “It’s a stomper and straight up rock ‘n’ roll.”

“So, ‘Don’t Come Lookin’’ was written with me and Luke Dick, and we were just kinda knockin’ around trying to find something to write. And I thought of something that I used to say to my mom before I left the house. I just started saying to her one day, I was like, ‘Mom, if I don’t come back just don’t come lookin’ for me. Like, I’m being dead serious. Just don’t come lookin’. It means I don’t want to come back.’ And I said that to Luke and he was like, ‘That is awesome!’ So, we wrote it and it’s really just about gettin’ out where people aren’t, gettin’ away from the world, you know. Which I think if people did a little bit more, the world would be a little bit more sane. It’s a stomper and straight up rock ‘n’ roll.”
