CURRENT SINGLE – “Fearless (The Echo)”
When Jackson Dean released his debut album, Greenbroke, his current single was simply titled “Fearless.” But when he chose the song as the follow-up to his #1 debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” he released an updated version of the song and named it “Fearless (The Echo),” and Jackson explains that (The Echo) represents growth and maturity as a singer, and a little harder energy in the song.
Jackson Dean – Fearless (The Echo) :
“The original on Greenbroke, I went back and listened to ‘em, cause you know, we were lookin’ for somethin’ else to go at radio with secondly, after ‘Don’t Come Lookin’.’ And [my record label president, Scott] Borchetta kinda messaged me, and he was like, ‘Why don’t you go re-sing ‘Fearless’ and see how it feels. You know, go do your thing. I’m happy that we did. You don’t get to do that very often. You don’t get to come back and revisit the song and make it better. And it had been two years since I had sang it, you know, and I had played so many shows in between there, and for lack of better words, I feel like I could eat that boy alive that sang it then, you know. And I wanted to also make it kick a little harder, which we did a little bit of drum stuff on, and added some chuggin’ on the acoustic, brought all the lap steel up in the courses, which was a different feel to it. And the echo part of it, ‘Ride in the echoes’ is one of my favorite lines in that song. It’s just this trippy thing that’s just like, whoa.”
