DEBUT SINGLE – “Don’t Come Lookin’”
Jackson Dean says his debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” was inspired by something he used to say to his mom when he was a kid, as he was walking out the door to go play in the expansive woods by his house. He would tell her if he didn’t come back, don’t come lookin’ for him because it means he doesn’t want to be found. It seems like most moms would tell you you’ve lost your mind if their kid said that to them, so we wondered what Jackson’s mom response was, and he says, “It was answered with an eye roll, but they knew that I was capable to handle myself out there. It just became a running joke.”
Fast forward several years and Jackson turned that running joke into an incredible song that is already in the top 20 on the charts, and he says that song exists because of his mom. Jackson says, “For a while she was like, ‘I’m the Disney mom that’s always dead, because I always used to write about my brothers and my dad.”
But ultimately, Jackson chose to release “Don’t Come Lookin’,” the song his mom inspired, as his first radio single, “So,” he says, “she’s all happy about it.”

It just became a running joke, and that’s kinda how the song came to life, and she’s the reason behind that song. For a while she was like, ‘I’m the Disney mom that’s always dead,’ because I always used to write about my brothers and my dad. And she got the first radio single, so she’s all happy about it.”
