(AUDIO) JENNIFER NETTLES OFFERS MORE AUTHENTIC SIDE OF HER ON PLAYING WITH FIRE

When Jennifer Nettles made her Playing with Fire album, her goal was to dig a little deeper and offer the most authentic version of herself.  Jennifer wasn’t not being herself when she was a member of Sugarland, but she says, “I think we are quite complex humans. And even though someone might only know me from what was played on the radio with Sugarland, you know, one of the joys of going solo is getting to show those other parts of myself that might not have been as celebrated or even as ‘allowed,’ if you will, whenever I was working with Sugarland.”

So with songs like “Unlove You” and even her current single, “Hey Heartbreak,” Jennifer is not really trying to push emotional boundaries.  Instead she says, “I am just making an offering of what I also think is a little more richer in life.”

Besides Playing with Fire, fans can also enjoy Jennifer’s take on some holiday classics on her new album, To Celebrate Christmas, which is available now.  And be sure to catch Jennifer on TV, as the host CMA Country Christmas, November 28th on ABC, and she’s also starring in Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, November 30th on NBC.

Jennifer Nettles – different emotions solo  :47

“You know what, what I’m trying to do is invite and make an offering of a deeper, more authentic side of myself. In the sense that I think we are quite complex humans. And even though someone might only know me from what was played on the radio with Sugarland, you know, one of the joys of going solo is getting to show those other parts of myself that might not have been as celebrated or even as “allowed,” if you will, whenever I was working with Sugarland. So, I’m not trying to do anything in that way as much as I am just making an offering of what I also think is a little more richer in life.”
