Jennifer Nettles’ latest single, “I Can Do Hard Things,” is a tribute to women and a reminder to the world that women are strong, capable, multi-layered human beings who can take on more than just the simple things in life. The song and the equally powerful video have touched a lot of people, and Jennifer says that’s exactly what her intention was. “I hope that what I’m able to do touches people and reconnects them to a part of themselves that either they’ve forgotten or connects them to each other. I just want to be a connector in that way and I think that is why I’m a storyteller and why I’m a singer/songwriter and that for me seems to be the most direct route to the human soul is that kind of storytelling.”
Knowing that her music moves people in some way is validating for Jennifer because she laughs and says, “I hope people connect to it and feel moved, otherwise I ain’t doin’ my job.”
