Justin Moore’s latest album, Late Nights and Longnecks, features a lot of songs that include drinking, are about drinking, or involve drinking, like his latest single, “Why We Drink,” as well as “On the Rocks,” “Jesus and Jack Daniels,” “Airport Bar,” and “Never Gonna Drink Again,” but Justin laughs and says, “We didn’t make a conscious effort to do that. It just kinda happens with me, especially when you put me, Paul DiGiovanni, Josh Thompson, Jeremy (Stover) – my producer, David Lee Murphy, Casey Beathard – when you put us all together over the course of like five or six weeks, and the only thing we have to do is drink beer and write songs, that’s pretty much what you get.”
Plus, when they were down at Justin’s beach house writing for the album, there was a lot of beer and other adult beverages around, and he says, “It was just present, and we were just kinda using whatever we had around us for inspiration.”
Justin just kicked off his Late Nights and Longnecks Tour with Tracy Lawrence on Thursday. The tour will run through April 11th, and you can get a complete list of his tour dates on justinmooremusic.com.
