Justin Moore’s latest single, “Kinda Don’t Care,” was co-written by Ross Copperman, Ben Hayslip and Rhett Akins, who happens to be Justin’s buddy Thomas Rhett’s dad. It turns out Justin is great friends with both father and son, but he says, “It makes me feel old to think that I’m probably better friends and closer in age to his dad. But no, Rhett and I have written a lot of songs together. Thomas Rhett and I have never written together. I actually recorded a song that Thomas Rhett was a co-writer on for this album. It didn’t end up making the album but I really love the song and respect him as a songwriter and a singer.”
Whether he’s writing with them or recording their songs, Justin loves being able to work with both of his talented friends, who happen to be father and son, Rhett Akins and Thomas Rhett.
