Justin Moore admits that unlike some kids who grow up and decide to be a singer for a living, his parents were 1000% supportive of his decision and were even the ones who suggested he go for it. Justin is from the tiny town of Poyen, Arkansas and he says, “It was not somethin’ that I ever thought I was gonna do for a livin’, because you grow up in a town like that you don’t think that’s possible and you can’t fathom doing this for a livin’. You’re not supposed to dream this big.”
Justin, who is currently climbing the charts with his new single, “This Kind of Town,” caught the performance bug in high school and he says, “My dad is the one who actually said, ‘So, what do you think about doin’ that for a livin’?’ I go, ‘Huh? You can do that for a livin’?’ And so, my parents were very supportive as opposed to the opposite where some parents when you go home from college and go, I’m not goin’ back to college, I’m gonna go try to be a Country Music star, where they would go, what the hell’s wrong with you? They were very supportive of me and obviously still are.”

“It was not somethin’ that I ever thought I was gonna do for a livin’, because you grow up in a town like that you don’t think that’s possible and you can’t fathom doing this for a livin’. You’re not supposed to dream this big. I started playin’ music my junior or senior year a high school and I thought, ‘Man, this is actually pretty cool’, and my dad is the one who actually said, ‘So, what do you think about doin’ that for a livin’?’ I go, ‘Huh? You can do that for a livin’?’ And so, my parents were very supportive as opposed to the opposite where some parents when you go home from college and go, I’m not goin’ back to college, I’m gonna go try to be a Country Music star, where they would go, what the hell’s wrong with you? Shown by some insensitive folks in the public eye. God bless our military for all they do. I’ll continue teaching my kids they’re all heroes.
