(AUDIO) JUSTIN MOORE STAYED IN HIS LANE AND LET THE COUNTRY MUSIC TRENDS COME BACK TO HIM

CURRENT SINGLE: “You, Me & Whiskey” (featuring Priscilla Block)

Justin Moore has always represented a more traditional sound in country music, and thanks to artists like Justin and Luke Combs, Carly Pearce, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others, that sound is popular again on the radio these days. Of course Justin is happy to be in the sweet spot of country music right now, but he has learned over the years that if he stays true to his music and who he is, eventually things always come back around.

Justin Moore – shift toward traditional :49

“You know, it’s kind of the way country music has always been, really. If you think about it, in the early 80s it was pretty poppy soundin’. And then, you know, you go into the class of 89 and the 90s, it shifted back. And then early on in my career it was pretty traditional sounding. I signed my deal in ‘07 and ‘Small Town USA’ was our first big record, and it was pretty country soundin’. And that was kinda what the radio sounded like at the time. And then kind of at the midway point of my career is when you had the more, I don’t know, hip-hop, influenced, pop influenced, that kind of stuff. There were certainly some moments in there, where we go, ‘I don’t know if we can hang in here doing what we’re doin’.’ But fortunately, we rode the wave in the middle of our career, and we got to continue makin’ traditional country until it kinda swung back in our favor.”

Now, Justin is riding that wave up the charts with Priscilla Block and their duet, “You, Me & Whiskey.”
