(AUDIO) Justin Moore On Rediscovering “Home Sweet Home” After Prompting Of Label Head

Justin Moore is one of the more traditional artists in country music, so when the idea came up for him to record a song for the upcoming Mötley Crüe tribute album, he admits that he was a little skeptical. Justin says it was Scott Borchetta, his record label president, who brought him the idea and Justin said, “Wow, you are nuts’, I mean, I’m as traditional as it gets now days and that’s crazy for me. But let me go back and get reacquainted with some of their music.”

Justin obviously knew some of Mötley Crüe’s big hits, but he wanted to get better schooled in their music, and once he did he says, “‘Home Sweet Home’ was one of those songs I remembered loving back in the day, but when I saw it on a cassette tape, that’s when I go, ‘Oh man, I forgot about Home Sweet Home, I love this song,’ It was the only song I thought I could do justice to. We went in a recorded it and we just kinda all fell in love with it.”

“Home Sweet Home” will be on Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe, which will be released on August 19th.

Justin Moore – how got to do Home Sweet Home :48
“My record label president called me probably six months about and said, ‘Man, I know you’re gonna think I’m crazy but, would you sing on a Motley Crue tribute album?’ And I said, ‘Wow, you are nuts’, I mean, I’m as traditional as it gets now days and that’s crazy for me. But let me go back and get reacquainted with some of their music. I was obviously familiar with what they had accomplished in this industry, and obviously knew a lot of their material, but I wanted to get a little more well versed in it. ‘Home Sweet Home’ was one of those songs I remembered loving back in the day, but when I saw it on a cassette tape, that’s when I go, ‘Oh man, I forgot about Home Sweet Home, I love this song,’ It was the only song I thought I could do justice to. We went in a recorded it and we just kinda all fell in love with it.”
