#1 SINGLE: “We Didn’t Have Much”
When it comes to writing songs, Justin Moore would say his strength when he’s in the writing room is coming up with lyrics. ”l’m pretty vocal,” he says. “I certainly have a lot of input and I put more lyrical stuff in probably than musical. You know, I’m not gonna wow anybody with my musicianship, so I’m more of a lyrical guy.”
Justin admits when he first started co-writing songs, before he had a record deal, he was pretty shy about speaking up in the writing room. But now he says, “The thing that I get most is they go, ‘Man, what we love about writin’ with you is you know exactly what you are and what you want to say.’”
Justin appreciates the compliment because he says, “I don’t want ‘em wastin’ their time because we’re there to write songs for me. So, if I don’t wanna say somethin’, I’ll go, ‘Man, I don’t really wanna say that. I’d rather say this.’ I just feel like that’s respectful of their time and their talents. They could be writing a song for anybody.”
