(AUDIO) Justin Moore Keeps His Political Opinions Close To The Vest

Justin Moore can be a pretty outspoken and opinionated guy, but when it comes to politics he walks a very fine line about how much of his personal political beliefs he shares. As a concerned parent and a citizen Justin feels like it’s a responsibility to be informed about what’s going on in the world, but he says, “Whether or not you can really express your opinions, when you have a job in the spotlight, I think you have to very careful about it. I think the greatest thing about this country, or the greatest thing that was about this county, is that everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, and I’m one of these guys who, I do have strong opinion, but I’ve always been a guy who can respect somebody else’s opinion without agreein with it.”

Justin, whose latest single, “Lettin’ the Night Roll,” has cracked the top 15, says when it comes to voicing your opinion on politics, “Unfortunately in my position, and other artists and movie stars etc., you really can’t be as vocal as sometimes when you’re sittin’ back at home watchin’ some things go on, that you would like to be. So, I just kinda keep it under the vest and kinda roll along and try not to tick anybody off.”

Justin Moore – mixing politics with music 1:13
“I do like politics. When I was younger I didn’t care anything about it, but I think the older you get and the more responsibility you have, and in particular, the more responsibility you have for your kids and your family, I think you get into it a little more. I like to keep up with what’s goin’ on. I like to be informed. Whether or not you can really express your opinions, when you have a job in the spotlight, I think you have to very careful about it. I think the greatest thing about this country, or the greatest thing that was about this county, is that everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, and I’m one of these guys who, I do have strong opinion, but I’ve always been a guy who can respect sombody else’s opinion without agreein with it. And that’s fine and we can shake hands and go have a beer or whatever, but unfortunately in my position, and other artists and movie stars etc., you really can’t be as vocal as sometimes when you’re sittin’ back at home watchin’ some things go on, that you would like to be. So, I just kinda keep it under the vest and kinda roll along and try not to tick anybody off.”
