When Justin Moore announced that his new album would be called Kinda Don’t Care, people found it funny, interesting, irreverent, etc. Justin explains that the title may sound flippant, but it was actually inspired by the recording process of the album. He says, “We recorded a lot of stuff that we’ve done in the past in that vein but we also, like we really got out of our comfort zone in some spots in the way that we produce some things track-wise.”
While Justin pushed his boundaries a little on Kinda Don’t Care, he was also worried about alienating his long-time fans. Justin says, “I’m always very careful to not compromise what we’ve accomplished in the past. I’m always nervous. I don’t want to disappoint my fans and so my producer pulled me aside I’m having these conversations with him. He goes, ‘Dude, do you realize if you sing it, It’s country and if you sing it, it sounds like you. Shut up and don’t worry about it. If you love this music and have passion for it then the fans will.’ And I go you know what he’s kinda right. I don’t really need to care about it. And so that’s kind of where it came from.”
One of the songs that pushed Justin vocally and sonically is his latest single, “Somebody Else Will,” which has a bit of an R&B flavor with Justin’s unmistakable country style.
