CURRENT SINGLE: “We Didn’t Have Much”
One of Justin Moore’s traditions at Thanksgiving is that he usually fries his family’s turkeys. He says, “I fry one for each side of the family,” but then he confesses, “really, it’s just an excuse for me not to be in the house cleanin’ and doin’ all that.”
If you’ve ever fried a turkey, then you know it’s serious business that can get out of hand quickly if you’re not careful. According to the National Fire Protection Association, every year deep-fryer fires are responsible for five deaths, 60 injuries, the destruction of 900 homes, and more than $15-million in property damage. So, even though Justin really is trying to make sure things are safe while he’s frying his turkeys, he says, “I get to pretend that I have to stay out and keep a close watchful eye on the temperature. Make sure the grease don’t get too hot, which allows me to drink beer by the fire.”
Thankfully, Justin hasn’t experienced any major injuries or destruction of property while frying his Thanksgiving turkeys, and let’s hope the same thing can be said after his 2020 turkey fry.
