Country music is all over the spectrum these days from pop country to rock country and everything in between, and while Justin Moore’s music is definitely contemporary, like his latest single, “Lettin’ the Night Roll,” some people might consider him one of the keepers of the traditional country music flame, which is fine with him. Justin says, “I don’t think I necessarily set out to do that. I mean, I’m just kinda doin’ what comes natural to me, which is more traditional soundin’ stuff. That’s what I grew up on. When I turn on the radio that’s what I wanna hear, personally, ‘cause that’s what I enjoy and that’s not a knock on any other type of music, it’s just that’s what I enjoy listenin’ to the most. And I think that’s what my voice and my songwriting lends itself to, subconsciously.”
Justin doesn’t mind that country music is so diverse these days, as long as people don’t forget country music’s roots. He says, “Now days it’s as diverse as I’ve ever seen it my lifetime, and it’s all good. We just have to realize there’s a spot for all of it, including traditional country music.”

Justin Moore – keeper of traditional flame :59

And I think that’s what my voice and my songwriting lends itself to, subconsciously. If somebody says that I’m one of those guys that’s tryin’ to keep that goin’ then that’s a huge compliment to me. I’m just doin’ what comes natural to me and there’s great music in our format right now across the board, whether it be Pop/Country, Rock/Country, etc.. It’s all brought new fans into our format that otherwise wouldn’t have been here. Now days it’s as diverse as I’ve ever seen it my lifetime, and it’s all good. We just have to realize there’s a spot for all of it, including traditional country music.”
