Justin Moore has four kids who are eight, seven, four and 17-months-old, and with the exception of the baby, he says most of them have figured out that their daddy isn’t like other daddies when it comes to his job. “Especially the oldest two,” says Justin. “But I think Klein too, as well now. I mean, she’s four, so she’s pretty much getting it too.”
Justin is like a lot of other dads when he’s at home, taking his kids to school and making their lunches, and coaching their little league sports teams, but he says one example of when they realize something is different, is, “We’ll be at a ball tournament and I’m coaching and at the end of the game all the other parents are either consoling their kid because we lost or they’re telling them great job because we won—whatever. And I’ve got to stand there and take pictures for 30 minutes or whatever.”
Fortunately, having a famous daddy is all Justin’s kid have ever known, so it’s not like they had to learn to adjust to it later in life. “The good thing about it is it’s not something that I started when they were 6 or 7, so they’re used to it by now,” says Justin, “and they’ve gotten used to the fact that I’ve got to leave for two, three, four days at a time every week or whatever. I don’t think it’s a shock to the system like it would be if I had done it after they had already been born.”
Justin is working on a new album, featuring his latest single, “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home,” which he will release next year.

“Yeah, I think so. I mean, especially the oldest two. But I think Klein too, as well now. I mean, she’s four, so she’s pretty much getting it too. And especially when we’ll be at a ball tournament and I’m coaching and at the end of the game all the other parents are either consoling their kid because we lost or they’re telling them great job because we won—whatever. And I’ve got to stand there and take pictures for 30 minutes or whatever. And so sometimes they notice it when it’s not really great for them, which I hate. But yeah, they’ve pretty much got it. But the good thing about it is it’s not something that I started when they were 6 or 7, so they’re used to it by now and they’ve gotten used to the fact that I’ve got to leave for two, three, four days at a time every week or whatever.
