Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry has been engaged to Major League Baseball’s J.P. Arencibia, who is the starting catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, and she admits when they first started dating she didn’t know a whole lot about baseball. “In all honesty, I have to say our family have always been St. Louis Cardinals fans,” says Kimberly. “Like our grandfather was and our uncle is a baseball writer. But I hadn’t jumped on baseball bandwagon yet.” But her fiancée wanted to make sure she understood the game, so she says, “The first gift that J.P. ever gave me was a ‘Baseball For Dummies’ book, which I did plug through.”
Now she is well-versed in the sport and looking forward to being his well-informed wife when both of their busy schedules will allow them time to get married.
By the way, congratulations to The Band Perry on their two ACM Awards nominations for Vocal Group of the Year and Video of the Year for “Better Dig Two.”
