(AUDIO) LACI KAYE BOOTH SHUFFLES HER WAY ONTO COUNTRY RADIO THIS WEEK

DEBUT SINGLE – “Shuffle”

After finishing in the top five on season 17 of American Idol, Laci Kaye Booth set her sights on Nashville and writing the best possible songs to deliver to her fans.  She released her self-titled debut collection of music last month, and this week her debut single, “Shuffle,” officially hits country radio.  The song likens the girl’s heart and her emotions to a jukebox on shuffle, and Laci says, “The day I wrote ‘Shuffle’ I was on my way to the write and I was thinking about the song ‘Stand by Your Man,’ which is a song that my grandma always dedicated to my grandpa.  He was a wild one back in the day but she stood by him, and their relationship is the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever seen.”

But as Laci considered her own thoughts on love and relationships, she decided, “I think I’m somewhere between ‘Stand by Your Man,’ and ‘Earl Had to Die.’ And so,” she says, “I brought that to the write. The song is actually ‘Goodbye Earl,’ and we wrote just a bunch of female country song titles that I grew up on.”

What they ended up with was “Shuffle,” which Laci says, “It’s a female empowerment song, I feel like. It’s focused on all the incredible women in country that influenced me. So, you’re gonna hear references from Carrie Underwood to Dolly Parton to Jo Dee Messina, Shania Twain, Miranda.”

“Shuffle” can be found on Laci’s self-titled debut project, along with seven other songs she co-wrote.
