For Dave Haywood of Lady A, Veterans Day is especially significant because he has a lot of family members who have served in the military or are currently serving. For instance, he has a cousin stationed in Virginia Beach, and he says, “Not only is he a nurse in the Navy but he also got called up to New York City to be on the front lines for the coronavirus. And he is such a brave, brave guy and that kind of sacrifice is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”
Both of Dave’s late grandfathers also served in the military and he says, “There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think about my family members that are serving and that have served, and how much I appreciate that sacrifice.”
Dave and Lady A are aware that without the brave men and women who defend our freedoms, they wouldn’t have the opportunity to pursue their dreams. “It really puts things in perspective when you realize how many people are standing out there fighting for us to have our day today freedoms,” says Dave. “Those are the ones that we owe it all to.”
