Dolly Parton was just inducted into the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame, and the members of Lady A are not the least bit surprised. “She has ventured so far out of what you could say is country music, but never departed from it,” says Hillary Scott, “and pushed herself in entrepreneurial stuff with Dollywood and all of it. But I just love that she has not wavered. I’m just so enamored by how she’s moved through her career, and the sustain, and yeah, carried herself with such grace and such humor.”
Hillary also loves how self-deprecating Dolly can be. And Charles Kelley isn’t surprised Dolly was voted into the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame, because he thinks she’s had a career that most artists, including him, would envy. “You can’t help but be, too, a little envious of an artist that pretty much everyone agrees is amazing,” Charles says. “You know, there’s very few artists like that, where it’s like every single one agrees that, like hey man, you gotta love Bruce Springsteen, gotta love Willie Nelson, gotta love Dolly. That’s very rare. And I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little envious of that. Everyone thinks she’s cool and that’s hard to do.”
And now Lady a isn’t the least bit surprised that Dolly Partn’s cool factor has risen again, becoming a member of the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame, and they couldn’t be happier for her
