CURRENT #1 SINGLE: “Champagne Night”
After nearly 14 years together as a group, Lady A’s the way Lady A approaches their career has definitely changed. Charles Kelley explains, “It was such a giant splash early on that I think, whether you admitted it or not, when every single didn’t reach the same level of success, there was just a little piece of you that was like, gosh, is it ever gonna [happen again] … and at some point you have to just enjoy the journey and appreciate the art, and enjoy the process and not so much the outcome.”
That’s how Lady A approached things when they started, when they were young and hungry, but Charles says, “Once you know success you’re so afraid of losing it. And I think now we’re kinda going a little bit more fearlessly about it. And I always feel like that’s when we’re at our best and that’s when things work, when you don’t force it.”
The fact that Lady A is spending their third week at #1 with “Champagne Night,” would seem to indicate their fearlessness and focus on the journey is paying off.
