(AUDIO) LADY A TAKES NOTES ON WHAT THEY CAN BORROW FROM THE GREATS

CURRENT SINGLE: “Champagne Night”

If you’ve ever been to a concert in Nashville, there’s a good chance that at least one of the members of Lady A was at that show.  Charles, Hillary and Dave are all big music fans and love to go to as many shows as they can, not only to enjoy the music, but also to take notes.  Dave Haywood says, “Some of my favorites over the last couple years were Adele.  The simplicity just shook me to my core.  The Eagles show I got to see was incredible as well, just the musicianship and all the songs and the way they paced out the setlist and the night.  Also, getting to see Stevie Nicks when she was in town, I mean when Fleetwood Mac came through.  And that show is kind of the top of the top.  It’s so rock ‘n roll, so cool.  Sometimes they just sit there in silence in between songs with the lights down for two minutes, and people just start roaring.”

It’s hard for the members of Lady A to watch a show strictly as a fan, because Dave says, “Those kind of shows really are the ones that inspire me.  I take a lot from those, and we sit in our rehearsals and make notes and always reference those kinda shows of how we can take some from the greats and put ‘em into ours.”

When Lady A chose to record their latest single, “Champagne Night,” it was specifically because they thought it would be such a great addition to their live show, so hopefully one day soon, they’ll be able to put it in a set list and perform it live.

Dave Haywood – “I’ve always been a huge music fan, obviously, and going to as many concerts as I can, and that’s never stopped.  Some of my favorites over the last couple years were Adele. Sometimes they just sit there in silence in between songs with the lights down for two minutes, and people just start roaring.  And those kind of shows really are the ones that inspire me.  I take a lot from those, and we sit in our rehearsals and make notes and always reference those kinda shows of how we can take some from the greats and put ‘em into ours.”
