Lady Antebellum has released two songs off their Ocean album, including “What If I Never Get Over You” and their current single, “What I’m Leaving For,” but they definitely hope to feature more than just those two songs in their upcoming Ocean Tour. Hillary Scott says they’ll really be mapping out the set list and the flow of the show from the end of April through the first few weeks of May, but she says, “Our biggest goal that we’ve talked about (is) … I think we want to play a lot off this record because it is so present for us. I think it’s very timely and it’s important to play as much of this album as we can live.”
But fans don’t have to worry that Lady Antebellum will only be playing the new album during the Ocean Tour. Hillary says the goal is also to “freshen up the songs of ours that everyone has known over the years, and have those high energy moments. We’re bringing the horns back, which will be really fun.”
They’re also excited to find unique ways to incorporate some cover songs, or at least pieces of them, into their set list. Having the horns, Hillary says, “That just opens up a whole world of cover songs we can throw in, mashups… I mean half of what we do in rehearsals is like, ‘Man, we could go into that song out of our song and then go back into our song.’”
The Ocean Tour will kick off May 21st in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will run through September 12th, with Jake Owen and Maddie and Tae opening the shows.
