Lady Antebellum will release their brand new song, “What If I Never Get Over You,” on Friday, and Charles Kelley believes the emotion of the song is something everyone who has ever been through a break up has probably experienced at some point. “‘What If I Never Get Over You’ is definitely about that feeling, you know, I think right after you break up, there’s that moment that whether you were the one that did the breaking up or got broken up with, that you wonder if you’ll ever find that same connection and love,” says Charles.
While the group didn’t write the song, they all three related to it as soon as they heard it. Charles says, “I know I felt like that before. Before I met Cassie I had a longtime girlfriend, and I mean, it was years of feeling that, ‘am I ever gonna find anyone like her? Was that the one? And I think that’s why it is kind of a universal message, and that’s what this is about.”
“What If I Never Get Over You” is the first release from Lady Antebellum on their new record label, BMLG Records, and it’s the first release off a new album they are currently working on completing.
