(AUDIO) LADY A’S HILLARY SCOTT SHARES THE UPSIDE OF RECORDING THEIR LATEST ALBUM DURING THE PANDEMIC

CURRENT SINGLE:  “What A Song Can Do”

There were definite challenges for Lady A recording their What A Song Can Do album during quarantine, but one of the great benefits of their being so few people in the studio during the process was that Hillary got to share her work with her four-year-old daughters. “This is the first time that my twins, Emory and Betsy, were able to come in and stand in front of a mic,” she says.

Hillary suspected her girls would enjoy the experience because she says, “They both love to sing. I would have to say Betsy, if you ask her, it’s always a yes, and she’ll just bust into something. She still very much loves ‘This Is Me’ from The Greatest Showman.”  Also, Hillary says, “Anything with oh oh‘s in it, it’s her favorite.”

While Hillary has been able to share that kind of experience with her oldest daughter, Eisele, who will be nine in July, she says “It was so cool to see them hearing their own voice back and just gettin’ to be in the control room with me, because the majority of their life they haven’t really come to work with mom. So, it was really sweet to have them be able to do that.”

From the sounds of it, Hillary’s daughters, especially Betsy, will gladly go to work with mom anytime she’s invited.
