Mackenzie Carpenter – music growing up :44
“It’s kinda hard to talk about young Mackenzie without talking about music at all because it’s pretty standard, typical story. I grew up, like before I was even talking, with a microphone in my hand. My dad was a pastor growing up. I was singing in church as soon as they would let me. I have two older brothers. I’m the youngest. All three of us grew up in Hull, Georgia, and we all moved to Nashville separately, but we currently all live in Nashville under the same roof. And we were always super musical growing up. My older brother Micah actually taught me how to play guitar. Maclean started playing first and then we all kinda jumped into it. So, we’re kind of a little bit of a low-key family band.”
Mackenzie often co-writes songs with her older brother Micah. In fact, she co-wrote her debut single, “Huntin’ Season,” with Micah and Nicolle Galyon.
