Maddie & Tae spend so much time together that they joke they’re like an old married couple. Maddie says, “It really is a marriage, like being in a duo and communicating and everything.”
Tae agrees and says their partnership works just like a marriage works. While some people might think two young women would get in spats a lot, Maddie says they don’t, “because we’re grownups and if there’s something wrong we say, ‘Hey!’”
Tae says it also helps that their personalities complement one another. Maddie admits, “I’m like the, I’ll talk your ear off, and Tae’s like the reserved, like chill one.”
Perhaps another reason they get along so well is because they enjoy some of the same hobbies, like fishing, which they sing about in their latest single, “Shut Up and Fish.”

Maddie Marlow – “We’re basically married (yes). We’re wives because we are together like 24/7. It really is a marriage, like being in a duo and communicating and everything.”
Tae Dye – “Yeah, it works just like a marriage works.”
Maddie – “I know. And it works really well, too. We get along. People are always like, ‘Do y’all fight all the time?’ And we’re like, ‘No, because we’re grownups and if there’s something wrong we say, ‘Hey!’”
Tae – “And our personalities complement each other very well. It’s not clashing.”
Maddie – “I’m like the, I’ll talk your ear off, and Tae’s like the reserved, like chill one.”
