Maddie & Tae remember when they were younger and they used to look up to artists like Taylor Swift, Shania Twain and Lee Ann Womack, and now that they’re the ones in the spotlight, they’re honored that young girls look up to them. Tae Dye says, “At the time we would look at them and think, ‘oh my gosh, their life is a dream and they must have it perfect every single day’. And now that we’re actually in it, we do have struggles and it’s cool to see that, young girls are looking at us like we looked at Lee Ann Womack and Shania Twain. I mean, I don’t think we ever thought, whenever we were fifteen years old, that girls would be looking at us like that. But, it’s a really cool feeling.”

Maddie Marlow agrees that it’s amazing, and it makes her emotional just thinking about it.. The girls are really hoping to inspire their fans with their new song, “Sierra,” which was based on an experience Maddie had when she was younger, of being bullied by a girl in school. They hope it will encourage their fans of all ages to know that no matter what someone else is doing to try to bring you down, you can and will get through it.
