Maddie & Tae are both 19, and looking at them it might be easy to assume they are girlie girls, but Maddie says the truth is, “I’ve gone hunting with my dad since I was about five years old.” In fact, she says hunting is a really big bonding experience in her family because her sister often goes with her and her dad, and even though her mom doesn’t really hunt, she says, “She just makes whatever we bring home taste really good.”

Hearing Maddie & Tae songs on the radio, like their latest single, “Fly,” and getting on stage to perform for thousands of people is a big rush for Maddie, but she says hunting is also a big rush for her, even when she doesn’t shoot anything. She says, “I’ve been about three feet away from a deer once and that might have been the biggest adrenaline rush I’ve ever had.”
