Martina McBride’s middle daughter, Emma, graduated from high school earlier this year and decided to attend college away from home, which means Martina only has one of her daughters left at home, her youngest daughter, Ava.  While Martina misses having all of her girls at home, when she thinks of Ava, she says, “She’s at a really interesting age, Ava, because she’s 11. And that’s such a time of growth for a kid, especially a girl. They really start kind of figuring out who they are. She’s now kind of starting to get into clothes and makeup and that kind of stuff. So I’m trying to just really be in the moment with her and soak up all of those things. Now that she’s the only one, it’s easier. It’s almost like having an only child again.”

Fortunately, Martina is doing most of her touring and promoting her latest single, “Just Around the Corner,” on the weekends, which means she’s able to spend more time at home with Ava during the week.
