Martina McBride is set to perform to an arena with the capacity of 20,000 this week in Nashville, but she won’t be singing her new single, “Reckless.” Instead, she’s been chosen to take part in an all-star concert event to honor legendary singer-songwriter/actor Kris Kristofferson.
In 2005 she recorded the songwriter’s classic, “Help Me Make It Through The Night.” And you may recall her stellar performance of the song at the ACM awards that same year. When Kristofferson introduced her that night he complimented her and told the audience, “You send a song out to the world and sometimes it comes back to you transformed.” Martina isn’t sure if that’s the song she’ll be performing, but says she will sing anything Kris wants to hear…

Martina – meeting Kris Kristofferson was amazing :17
“I hope I get to sing “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” because we recorded that on Timeless. I met him through making Timeless. I saw him at a show after that and he told me that he really loved the cut and his wife said he cried hearing it. And I was like ‘just wow.’ That’s amazing.”
