(AUDIO) Martina McBride Says She Went ‘Old School’ For Songs On Her Upcoming Album

Martina McBride is known for her big, booming, beautiful voice; more so than her songwriting, yet we know she has the talent for both. In example, she penned “Concrete Angel,” one of her biggest hits.

To be released April 29, Reckless is shaping up to be her favorite album so far. She says there were a lot of factors that went into it, to make it that…but song writing wasn’t one of them. She explains…

Martina – old school for new album :21
“Ya know I was really able to take my time and find the right songs and be really patient. I wasn’t on a deadline on the beginning, so the label was really cool about that. Which allowed me to just wait, ya know, wait for the right songs. I kinda went old school, ya know everybody asked if I wrote for this record and I didn’t. I just found the best of these amazing songwriters that we have in Nashville. Which is always what I’ve loved to do…is interpret songs anyways.”
