Midland’s latest single, “Make A Little,” is a rousing ode to love, but their debut album, On the Rocks, also offers plenty of songs inspired by heartache and love lost.  Two of the three members of Midland, Cameron and Jess, are very happily married, so is it Mark’s dating life that inspires those heartbreak songs?  According to Cameron, “Even though Mark is single right now we are all kind of like hopeless romantics.  And writing the songs, you never forget the hard core heartbreaks that happened, whether they were 10 years ago or now. So we’re all kind of scholars in the school of heartache.”

Fortunately, none of those memories of heartbreak were required for the barn burning, uplifting “Make A Little.”
