(AUDIO) MIDLAND CELEBRATES TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO LOS ANGELES WITH ‘LIVE FROM THE PALOMINO’

Back in October, Midland headed out west to North Hollywood, California to play a show at the iconic Palomino Club, which was once the best known country music club in the West, until it closed its doors in 1995.  The club was revived for one night only, and in front of a packed crowd of friends, family, media and industry insiders, Midland performed their throwback brand of country, including songs from their latest album, Let It Roll, like their new single, “Cheatin’ Songs,” and it was all captured for their new live album, Live from the Palomino, which was just released on Friday.

Thinking back to the night that received rave reviews from Variety, Billboard, Rolling Stone and other publications, Jess Carson says, “Shoot, that was one of the coolest nights and events that we’ve gotten to be a part of, reviving the Palomino Club for one night only.”

Getting to bring The Palomino, which once hosted Elton John Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Dwight Yoakam and more, back to life, was special for Midland.  “There was clearly something really magical about that night,” says Mark Wystrach, “otherwise we definitely wouldn’t have released a live album.  We were comin’ off basically a year straight of touring, and had really solidified and congealed as a seven-piece band, which is now our band and our brothers.  And, it was a really … I mean, it was a fun night, like we were having a good time on stage and I think you can see that.”

For Midland, the night was special for a lot of reasons, including the fact that it was a triumphant return to Los Angeles and a much different experience than when they were younger trying to make it in the L.A. music scene.  “It was a homecoming for us,” says Mark, “cause we all made our first forays puttin’ ourselves out there in the L.A. music scene and just got absolutely stomped on.”

Midland’s ten-track Live from the Palomino album is available wherever you stream or download music.
