Midland recently launched their own tequila, Insólito, created with Octavio and Alberto Herrera who own Premium de Jalisco, a distillery in Mexico. The tequila, which is currently exclusive to Texas, is available in blanco, reposado and añejo. For the guys, creating their own brand of tequila made perfect sense. “It’s allowed us to travel to our neighboring sister country, Mexico, in a series of research and development trips,” says bass player, Cameron Duddy, “and to collaborate on things outside of music, which is kind of the perfect side business for Midland. We enjoy (an) adult beverage from time to time, and we also love the Mexican culture.”
Midland, who is currently climbing the charts with their new single, “Cheatin’ Songs,” was proud to partner with Octavio and Alberto to create a quality product they are proud to share with the world. According to lead singer, Mark Wystrach, “We got to work side by side, and really hand by hand with the three of us and then with our partners down in Mexico, in putting out what we feel is one of the best tequilas in the market. If you’re gonna make something, make it good.”
As mentioned, Midland’s Insólito is currently only available in Texas, with plans to expand the brand nationwide in the future.
