(AUDIO) MIDLAND FINDS INSPIRATION WAY OUTSIDE OF THEIR BOX

CURRENT SINGLE – “Sunrise Tells the Story”

Midland is known for being one of the most traditional sounding, throwback bands in modern country music.  While they are deeply entrenched is 70’s and 80’s country, from their music to their style, they don’t limit themselves to that box when it comes to listening to, watching or being inspired by other music.  Talking about one of the most inspiring concerts he’s seen in the last few years, Cameron (Cam) Duddy said, “Oh my God, we saw [rap/hip hop artist] Kendrick (Lamar) in Austin, and I really haven’t been to many hip-hop concerts – although I dig the music, obviously – but I haven’t been to too many. I saw Kendrick not knowing what to expect, and it was a full blown assault on my senses in the best way.”

Prior to joining Midland, Cam used to direct music videos for people like Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears, so he’s seen some of the best performers in action, but Cam was so blown away by Kendrick Lamar’s concert because he says, ”It was visually stunning, musically his band was just untouchable and his performance was two hours of nonstop movement.”

Not only was Cam completely impressed, but it was also a bit of a reality check for him, because he says, “It made me feel like, wow, I can never complain again because this guy is doing it by himself, basically, and his run was 30 dates in a row type of thing. It was inspiring to say the least.”

Midland will kick off The Last Resort Tour on October 7th, with the last date of the tour happening December 23rd in Austin, Texas.  You can see a complete list of their tour dates on MidlandOfficial.com.
